The names you can specify in VM:Webserver for OfficeVision depend on the function you are using.
Scheduling events and meetings
Sending mail
Working with distribution lists
Event and meeting scheduling pages accept names for only registered OfficeVision/VM users. In OfficeVision/VM, the term "users" includes conference rooms and equipment as well as people.
You can specify an OfficeVision/VM userid or nickname for a single user, and you can specify the name of a distribution list of OfficeVision/VM userids or nicknames. Valid distribution list names are defined in your OfficeVision/VM configuration. On the meeting scheduling pages, you can specify any of these names in the relevant fields. On the event scheduling pages, the names each field accepts varies; the online help indicates which names you can enter in each field. If a distribution list contains the OfficeVision/VM dot commands .ad or .cc, VM:Webserver for OfficeVision processes those commands so that the indicated users are included as members of the list.
If a user is on a remote system, the system administrator must identify that system to the local system.
Mail pages accept several different types of names. The table indicates to whom you can send mail and how to specify their names.
| Addressees | Specify |
|---|---|
| Users, equipment, and conference rooms registered in OfficeVision/VM | OfficeVision/VM userids or nicknames in the To or cc field, or on dot commands in the Text or Purpose field. |

Distribution lists accept several different types of names. The table indicates the types of names and how to specify them in the Name field. The order in which the names are listed in the table reflects the order in which OfficeVision/VM assesses the names; that is, OfficeVision/VM looks for each name first as a distribution list filename, then as a nickname, and so on until it locates the name.
| Names | Specify |
|---|---|
| Distribution lists | Filename of the distribution list; filetype OFSMLIST and filemode * are assumed |
| Nicknames | nickname, as specified in an active nickname file |
| Userid on the local VM system, or name registered in the local OfficeVision/VM system | userid |
| Userid on a remote system, or name registered on a remote OfficeVision/VM system | node(userid) |
