When you are in a nickname file, you can add nicknames to the file, modify or delete existing nicknames in the file, or modify control information.

If you open multiple instances of a nickname file, VM:Webserver for OfficeVision processes only the first changes you submit. You will lose all changes made to the nickname file in other open sessions.
The nicknames listed on this page include nicknames you cannot update through VM:Webserver for OfficeVision. These nicknames were created and are maintained through the OfficeVision Enhanced Mail Addressing (OEMA) PRPQ.
| Add | Indicates whether you want the nickname added to the nickname file. If this box is not checked for a new name, the nickname is lost when you process the page. |
| Remove | Indicates whether you want the nickname removed from the nickname file. (You cannot remove a nickname by clearing fields.) |
| Nickname | Nickname for the userid specified in the Userid field. You can use a combined total of eight alphanumeric characters and the special characters $ # @ + - : _. VM:Webserver for OfficeVision converts all characters you enter to uppercase. You cannot use the values OPTION, LOGFILE, NEWFILE, PROLOG, EPILOG, LOCAL, or *BANNER. |

When you use a nickname to address a note, OfficeVision/VM sometimes shows the first 18 characters of the comment with the resolved addressee name in the To or cc field of the sent note. | Private | Indicates whether OfficeVision/VM is to save notes addressed to the nickname in a notelog of the same name as the nickname. |

| Greeting | Text to include at the beginning of each note you send. You can specify a total of 63 characters in each field. If any of the four fields is blank, VM:Webserver for OfficeVision checks the corresponding field in each of the alternate nickname files that follow and displays the first text it finds. If any of the four fields contains the value )))), VM:Webserver for OfficeVision does not include any text for that field. If the word "Subject:" appears on the fourth line of the greeting, do not type over it. If you do, the subject of notes will appear as "NO SUBJECT" to the recipient. You can, however, type additional information after the word "Subject." You can change that information before you send the note. |
